Clearasil Daily Face Wash

Clearasil Daily Face Wash
Clearasil Daily Face Wash
Clearasil Daily Face Wash
Ever since my early teenage years, I've been plagued with oily, acne prone skin. While my breakouts have decreased significantly in frequency and severity now that I'm in my thirties, my quest for a clearer complexion continues on. For many years now, one of the staples in my daily cleansing routine has been Clearasil Daily Face Wash (or Wal-Mart's less expensive generic brand Equate when available). And now that my preteen daughter is discovering that she has inherited my genetic tendency for having oily skin prone to blemishes as well, I am now purchasing this product for her along with myself. What an amazing difference we've noticed in her skin over the past few weeks.

~~~The Product~~~
Clearasil Daily Face Wash is an oil free cleansing product designed to help treat and prevent pimples and blackheads. As a first step to clearer skin, this acne control formula fights bacteria and foams away trapped dirt and oil deep from within pores where inflammation begins better than regular soap, without overdrying. Skin receives that deep down clean it needs to stay clear and free of pimples without the oily residue that many other cleansers leave behind. Gentle enough to use for daily use at the sink or in the shower, this anti-bacterial cleanser containing 0.3% Triclosan contains a fragrance that leaves the skin smelling fresh and not medicinal. I use this skin care product at bedtime as a rather effective make-up remover. My face is left clean and refreshed; never dry and tight like cleansers containing other acne medications sometimes do. And my daughter washes her face with Clearasil Daily Face Wash in the mornings before school, resulting in a noticeable improvement in the condition of her skin over a short period of time.
~~~Packaging & Price~~~

Each 6.5 ounce (184g) large plastic tube of Clearasil Daily Face Wash may be purchased at most major discount stores, such as Wal-Mart, and many online merchants, such as drugstore.com for about $3.99. Resting on it's cap with the lid opening on the bottom, this anti-bacterial acne control cleanser may be stored easily at both the sink and the shower for convenient daily use. Containing a thick white fresh smelling substance, each bottle is advertised to provide over 100 uses, resulting in a cost of just pennies per day. Since I use this product primarily as a make-up remover, I tend to use more of this cleanser each time than is recommended, but I still average 60 to 75 washes per tube. So not only is Clearasil Daily Face Wash an effective acne control cleanser, even for adults with oily skin as well as teens and preteens, but it is an economical skin care choice as well.

~~~Directions for Use~~~
Wet your face and squeeze a small amount (about the size of a dime) of Clearasil Daily Face Wash into the palm of your hand and add a few drops of water. Make sure to work this mixture into a rich foamy lather first to fully activate the cleansers. Then gently massage this freshly fragranced white lather onto the face with wet finger-tips for approximately 20-30 seconds, adding more water if necessary. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat the face dry with a clean towel. Your skin will feel clean and refreshed with no dryness or oily residue left behind each time Clearasil Daily Face Wash is applied and used as directed.
~~~Ingredients~~~

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Triclosan (0.3%)

INACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Water, Glycerin, Potassium Myristate, Potassium Stearate, Potassium Palmitate, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Myristic Acid, Stearic Acid, Polyquaternium-10, Pentasodium Pentetate, Tetrasodium Etibronate, Aloe Barbadensis Gel, Fragrance.

~~~What Is Triclosan?~~~
Found as an active ingredient in Clearasil Daily Face Wash and many other anti-bacterial skin care products such as hand soaps, etc., triclosan has effective antiseptic properties, which means that it kills many topical bacterial agents on contact. There is some controversy that this medication destroys the "good" bacteria along with the "bad", however, potentially creating antibiotic-resistant strains as a result. So as with most other topical medications, weigh the pros and cons first before trying this product. If you are uncertain, consult your dermatologist for more information on triclosan containing Clearasil Daily Face Wash and any possible side effects that could occur from its use.
~~~Warnings~~~

Do not use Clearasil Daily Face Wash on infants under 6 months of age. Do not use if you have a sensitivity to Triclosan and discontinue use if irritation occurs. As with any other medication, keep out of reach of children.

~~~Overall Recommendation~~~
Adults and teenagers alike will notice almost an immediate difference in the condition of their oily, acne prone skin soon after they begin cleansing their face with Clearasil Daily Face Wash. I've received excellent results for many years now and my preteen daughter is discovering just how well this pimple controlling medication is working for her changing skin type as well. And since each bottle lasts anywhere from 2 to 3 months, depending on the frequency of use, this moderately priced cleanser is an economical choice over time. But as an even less expensive alternative, consider checking out store brands, such as Wal-Mart's Equate, and pay approximately $2 for a very similar product containing the same acne fighting ingredient. I frequently switch back and forth, depending on availability, and have a difficult time telling them apart as far as performance goes (the generic actually smells better though in my opinion). So pick up a bottle of Clearasil Daily Face Wash today and see if the lesser known ingredient triclosan works as well for you as it does for me and now my daughter too.
 5 ways to reduce the risk of cancer
In United States alone, it is said that more than 500,000 cancer patients die every year. Most of these cases are connected to their weight, diet, and their lifestyle. But there are also some cancer patients who die due to nicotine exposure. With this in mind, people are looking for ways on how to prevent cancer. However, reports can be conflicting as one study is different from the other. To know how you can prevent this condition, below are the top tips that you may follow.
  1. Avoid nicotine exposure – whether it is tobacco or plain cigars, you are still feeding your body nicotine every time you smoke. This may lead to lung cancer as well as kidney and bladder cancer at the same time. Even if you’re the only one who smokes in the family, you are also putting your loved ones at risk since they are also exposed from your second hand smoke.
  2. Maintain a healthy lifestyle – kids are taught how to eat healthy by including fruits and vegetables in their meals. You should not forget about this too. Vegetables and fruits have antioxidants and the essential minerals that can fight the cancer cells. Moreover, you should also take time doing physical activities on a daily basis. Spend at least 40 to 60 minutes jogging, walking or doing movements rather than being desk bound all the time.
  3. Protection against the sun – to prevent skin cancer, limit you exposure to extreme sunlight as much as possible. But if your work requires you to be out in the open, make sure that you use products with UV protection such as sunscreen, sunglasses and the like. You can also get the same damage if you are a fan of sun lamps or tanning beds.
  4. Practice safe sex – do you know that you can get cervix or anus cancer if your partner is HIV-infected? See to it that you always have a condom whenever you get involved in sexual activities. Limit your partners to avoid other cancer-related conditions as well including anus, vulva and penile cancer.
  5. Pay importance to immunizations – even though it can be quite expensive, these cancer immunizations are definitely worth it.
As mentioned before, cancer can be fatal. If you do not want to be a part of the growing community of cancer patients, make sure that you have yourself checked annually and follow the tips that would reduce your risk of having cancer.
Top 5 ways to Gain Weight
 Top 5 ways to Gain Weight
Almost all body builders or those looking to gain weight, have one common goal when they head to the nearest gym. And that is to have bigger muscle mass. Gaining muscle and weight can be easy during the first few months of training. However, there would come a time when you suddenly stop gaining any weight, no matter how hard you lift or eat.
The problem is, the heavier you are, the more you should be eating. If you used to consume 2000 calories a day when you were 125lbs, consuming the same number of calories when you touch 150 pounds, isn’t going to help you gain weight any further. So what’s important is to slowly but steadily increase the number of calories you consume, as you gain weight.
Here are 5 ways to gain weight..
  • Drink protein shakes and milk – milk is rich in protein and you can gain more weight without having a hard time taking down all the calories. Ideally, you should have a glass of milk (preferably skimmed milk) after every meal even if it is just a snack. Also, protein shakes are good especially after work outs. It would decrease the recovery time of your muscles and also help you gain lean mass.
  • Eat the right kinds of foods –  Eat food that is high on protein content. You should have snacks and munch on cottage cheese, tuna, and chicken breasts to ensure rapid gain weight. Also make fruits and vegetables a part of your daily diet.
  • Take weight gain supplements or prepare them at home – Again, weight gain is much easier when you consume the right kind and amount of food. And skipping meals due to your busy daily schedule, ain’t gonna help. That’s when ready-made weight gainers or meal replacement supplements come in handy. CytoSport Cyto Gainer, Optimum Pro Complex Gainer, Ultimate Nutrition Muscle Juice 2600 are some of the more popular gainers available in the market.
  • Lift weights and keep the session intense – if you really want to gain weight then you should lift more and do a lot of routines that would strengthen your muscles. Keep your workout sessions short (1 hour or so) and keep it intense. Thrice a week on alternate days – Monday, Wednesday and Friday – is great. Without weight training, you will only build fats and not muscles.
  • Rest – take time to give your muscles adequate amount of  rest so you can be prepared for the next weight training session. Also remember that 8 hours of sleep is very very important.
Gaining weight is not as easy as you think especially if you are also targeting on gaining muscles. By following these tips, you will have more numbers on that scale without getting unwanted fats especially around the belly.
Tip: Don’t work out every part of your body during each training sessions. Ideally, work out on Chest and Biceps on Monday, followed by lower body on Wednesday, Shoulder and your back on Friday. You can work out on your abs every alternate days. Also remember to warm up  with cardio or ground exercises for atleast 10 minutes before every workout session.
Top 5 Fat Loss Tips
Top 5 Fat Loss Tips
Top 5 Fat Loss Tips
 Top 5 Fat Loss Tips
Almost everyone out there wants to be fit and sexy, and most want to lose weight.  Actually no one really wants to lose weight.  What people really want is to lose fat.  But just how do you go about losing fat?  Is there some top secret method that can just melt the fat away?  Unfortunately, there isn’t.  There are, however, several things that you can do to increase your fat loss and speed it along.
Here are our Top 5 Fat Loss Tips
1. Drink lots of water.  You should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day minimum and really try for a gallon.  The water will keep you hydrated, decrease that hunger feeling, help your body eliminate fat and the toxins from the burning of fat.
2. Change your carb intake.  There is no need for you to eliminate carbs from your diet but you do need to make some significant changes.  The bread, the pasta and anything made from flour has to go.  Replace them with fruits and vegetables.  Your best choice would be dark green leafy vegetables.  They will lower your overall carb intake and provide your body with the vitamins and minerals that it needs during this stressful period.
3. Change your exercise routine.  There has always been an argument as to which type of exercise is better for burning fat, aerobic or weight training.  Stop arguing over it because the best way is to include both of them in your daily routine.  They will increase your metabolism and burn more fat if you do them in conjunction with each other.  Give yourself the benefits of both.
4. Eat protein and fiber in every meal.  Protein and fiber will make you feel full sooner so that you eat less.  Both also have a positive effect on your body, raising your metabolism, and increasing your caloric expenditure throughout the entire day.
5. Substitute green tea for your coffee.  Coffee isn’t bad for you, but the cream and sugar that most people put into it can destroy a diet.  Avoid that by just eliminating it altogether.  Green tea has the added benefit in that it contains substances that have been shown to increase your body’s ability to burn its own fat and to boost your immune system.
Bonus Tip 1:  Ditch alcohol.  Alcohol contributes an absolutely nutritionally deficient 7 calories per gram.  Alcohol has also been shown to make it easier for your body to store fat and more difficult for you to lose it.  There is no way around the fact that alcohol is going to derail your efforts if you don’t eliminate it.
Bonus Tip 2: Get yourself a good night’s sleep.  Dieting is a very stressful experience for your body.  You need to get  enough rest in order to allow your body to recuperate and repair itself.  A good night’s sleep will do wonders for you.
Really, these are no secrets and fat loss is a long process, you can’t expect to get fit and sexy overnight. Make a goal, plan your diet and stick to it. Be focused and never give up. Slowly but steadily you’ll achieve what you set out to.
All the best
Les Paul
Les Paul
Lester William Polsfuss (June 9, 1915 – August 12, 2009)known as Les Paul—was an American jazz and country guitarist, songwriter and inventor. He was a pioneer in the development of the solid-body electric guitar which "made the sound of rock and roll possible". He is credited with many recording innovations. Although he was not the first to use the technique, his early experiments with overdubbing (also known as sound on sound), delay effects such as tape delay, phasing effects and multitrack recording were among the first to attract widespread attention.
His innovative talents extended into his playing style, including licks, trills, chording sequences, fretting techniques and timing, which set him apart from his contemporaries and inspired many guitarists of the present day.He recorded with his wife Mary Ford in the 1950s, and they sold millions of records.
Among his many honors, Paul is one of a handful of artists with a permanent, stand-alone exhibit in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is prominently named by the music museum on its website as an "architect" and a "key inductee" along with Sam Phillips and Alan
Avast 6 Free Antivirus
Avast 6 Free Antivirus
 http://www.traidnt.net/vb/attachments/572571d1304693346-avast6-logo-traidnt.net.png
The bottom line: After the last version's radical new interface that brought this security stalwart into a visual comparison with its competitors, Avast looks to the future with version 6's edgy improvements.
Review:
Avast made great strides in its previous update. Version 5 set the stage for the modern, massively popular, and free security suite with a new interface that ditched a quirky, late-'90s jukebox style for a more polished look. Easier to navigate, it also became easier to add new features.
Make no mistake; Avast 6 adds features both big and small. Some that had previously only been available to paid upgrade users are now free for all versions, and newer features have been seamlessly added to the interface experience. If you're familiar with Avast 5, upgrading to Avast 6 won't be that big of a leap.
Installation
Installing Avast is a painless process that compares well against its free competitors like AVG, although--like those competitors--it's much slower than installing paid programs like Trend Micro, Kaspersky, or Norton.
Some items of note during the installation that will come up later in the review: to completely avoid the new Windows 7 and Vista desktop gadget, or the new WebRep browser add-on, you must choose the Custom install option and uncheck those here.
Automatic installation of these features is frowned upon, although Avast does provide a clear method for uninstalling them. It's just not as simple as a check box that gets its own installation window, since you have to go through the Customize menu, which makes the auto-install sort of surreptitious.
On the plus side, installing Avast doesn't require a reboot, and using its uninstall tool we detected no remnants in the Registry or on the desktop. Avast has said that the installer has shrunk for all three versions by about 20 percent, although it's still a large download at around 57MB for the free version.
Avast Internet Security 6 (screenshots)
Interface
Avast 6's interface is virtually identical to the previous version's. Perhaps the most major change, aside from a slight lightening of the gray in the color scheme, is the removal of the Windows Explorer-style forward and backward buttons. We actually liked those, since they made it easy to return to a previous pane, no matter how deeply into the settings you had explored.
The only other change is the addition of the Additional Protection tab to the left nav area, which hosts the new AutoSandbox and WebRep feature controls.
For users new to Avast, the sleek user interface is a change that came at the end of 2009. The gray-and-orange color scheme stands out well on the screen, and the tab-based navigation on the left makes it easy to navigate between features. Highlighted with the familiar security colors of green for safe and red for dangerous, the Summary tab gives up-to-date info on shield status, auto-updates, virus definitions, the program version, and whether the silent/gaming mode is on. There's also an unobtrusive ad urging you to upgrade to Avast Internet Security 6.
The Summary tab contains a second submenu, Statistics. If you're curious to see how Avast's shields have been performing against threats, here's where you can get your math geek on. For each shield, it tells you how many files were scanned and when, and presents the data in a concise graph.
Avast 6 keeps its interface from Avast 5, and adds features both big and small. Some that had previously only been available to paid upgrade users are now free for all versions, and newer features have been seamlessly added to the interface experience. If you're familiar with Avast 5, upgrading to Avast 6 won't be that big of a leap.
The scans live in the second tab, where you can choose and adjust four default scan types plus a custom scan option nestled into the bottom right corner. Real-time shields live in the third tab, and again the clean interface comes into play here as navigating what could be a mess of options and tweaks is instead dead simple. Click on a shield to reveal a real-time chart of what the program's been defending you against, with a Stop button and settings options at the top of the window. Another button at the top takes you to the advanced settings for that shield, and links at the bottom expose the shield's history as a graph and export a log file.
Below the Additional Protection tab, which we covered above, the Maintenance tab contains the virus chest and manual update buttons. On the top right of the interface live the Help Center and the Settings, from which you can get much more granular control of Avast. This includes everything from toggling the system tray icon to managing updates to password-protecting Avast access. This is also where you can "uninvolve" your anonymously submitted data from Community IQ, the Avast crowdsourced behavioral detection engine.
One last change: a green Like Avast button has been added to the bottom of the left nav that expedites your Avast-related social networking. Fortunately, it's unobtrusive.
Features and support
As mentioned, the two big new features in the free version of Avast 6 are the AutoSandbox and the WebRep add-on. The debut of the AutoSandbox makes Avast the second antivirus option to offer a sandboxing tool for free. Competitor Comodo introduced a sandboxing tool in January 2010. Avast's sandbox probably works differently, as Comodo has a pending patent on its version. And certainly, one of the most frustrating things about sandboxing technology is that there are some indications that it doesn't work perfectly.
The AutoSandbox, new in both free and paid Avast versions, automatically places suspicious programs in a virtualized state when it suspects them of being threats. As the program runs, the sandbox keeps track of file behaviors and what it reads and writes from the Registry. Permanent changes are virtualized, so when the process terminates itself, the system changes it made will evaporate.
(Credit: Screenshot by Seth Rosenblatt/CNET)
Avast's version automatically places programs in a virtualized state when it suspects them of being threats. It walls off suspicious programs, preventing them from potentially damaging your system while allowing them to run. As the program runs, Avast's sandbox keeps track of which files are opened, created, or renamed, and what it reads and writes from the Registry. Permanent changes are virtualized, so when the process terminates itself, the system changes it made will evaporate.
The company hasn't said whether the virtualized state begins after the program already has access to your system, so it's theoretically possible that it could be compromised. There's not a single security feature in any program that hasn't been been compromised at some point, though, so "theoretically hackable" is true of all security features.
The AutoSandbox is different from Avast's paid-upgrade sandbox, and the paid upgrades to Avast Pro and Avast Internet Security include both the automatic version and the older, manually initiated version.
You can access the AutoSandbox settings from the new Additional Protection option on the left nav. It defaults to asking the user whether a program should be sandboxed, although you can set it to automatically decide. There's a whitelist option for programs that you always want to exclude from the sandbox, and you can deactivate the feature entirely.
Avast 6 also marks the debut of the program joining (or succumbing to) the browser-security add-on, with the new WebRep. Security add-ons have a long-standing word-of-mouth reputation for decreasing browser performance, although Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate's impact meter pegs Avast's plug-in at 0.07 second, well below the threshold of 0.2 second that IE uses as the default upper limit for browser performance impact.
WebRep works with IE and Firefox out of the box, and Avast says it plans to release a Chrome version soon. It supports a search result ranking and Web site reputation service that uses a combination of data from Avast's virus labs and user voting to determine a safety score for a site. User voting is a crapshoot for many security vendors, although Avast is known for its vast user base and their passionate support of the program, so the company's plans to give users incentives to vote could easily work in its favor. And make no mistake, Avast fans are truly fanatics: Avast Free has an average 4.5-star rating from Download.com readers, extremely unusual for a program with more than 15,000 votes.
It's important to note that the add-on installs to both Firefox and IE as you install Avast 6. If you don't want it, it's surprisingly easier to remove from within Avast instead of from within the browser. Currently, removing the add-on using the browser's interface will cue Avast to reinstall the add-on the next time the computer is rebooted.
Many of Avast 6's small improvements are worth noting as well. The Troubleshooting section now comes with a "restore factory settings" option, which makes it easier to wipe settings back to a familiar starting point, and comes with the option to restore only the Shields settings, leaving other changes untouched, like permanently running in silent mode. There's a new sidebar gadget for Windows 7 and Vista, and you now can set automatic actions for the boot-time scan. Available under the Scan Computer tab, the boot-time scan customizations give you far more flexibility in managing the lengthy and time-consuming boot scan.
Two features that have trickled down to the free version in Avast 6 are the Script Shield and site blocking. The Script Shield now works with Internet Explorer 8 and 9's protected mode.
Avast doesn't offer an on-demand link-scanning feature, like AVG and Norton do, although the company says that the way that Avast's Web shield behaves ought to protect you automatically from any malicious URLs by automatically preventing the URL from resolving in-browser. A page will appear letting you know that Avast has blocked the site because it is suspected to contain a threat.
If you're running Avast Pro Antivirus 6 or Avast Internet Security 6, the big new feature is the introduction of SafeZone, a virtualization feature that the company envisions people using for secure online banking. The basic difference between SafeZone and AutoSandbox is that the sandbox is designed to allow suspicious activity to run within a safe, walled-off, easily discarded environment, while SafeZone is the opposite. SafeZone creates a secure space that, ideally, prevents threats from getting in.
The AutoSandbox, new in both free and paid Avast versions, automatically places suspicious programs in a virtualized state when it suspects them of being threats. As the program runs, the sandbox keeps track of file behaviors and what it reads and writes from the Registry. Permanent changes are virtualized, so when the process terminates itself, the system changes it made will evaporate.
(Credit: Screenshot by Seth Rosenblatt/CNET)
SafeZone is accessible from the right-click Windows Explorer context menu, from the middle icon in the Windows 7/Vista desktop gadget, and from the Additional Protection tab in the Avast interface.
The difference between Avast Free and Avast Pro is that Pro gets the SafeZone, whereas Avast Internet Security differentiates itself by including SafeZone, antispam measures, and a firewall.
If you're new to Avast, the core features are what make it one of the best security suites around. The antivirus, antispyware, and heuristics engines form a security core that also includes multiple real-time shields. The adjustable mail and file system shields join the pre-existing behavior, network, instant-messaging, peer-to-peer, and Web shields. The behavioral shield is a common-sense feature, as security software publishers draw on their large user bases to detect threats early and warn others.
Other features include a gaming mode that can be used to permanently "silence" Avast notifications, and an "intelligent scanner" that only looks at changed files after establishing a baseline.
Program scans live in the second tab, where you can choose and adjust four default scan types plus a custom scan option. What's useful about Avast's layout here is that you can adjust all Avast-related scans from this tab. This includes Quick and Full scans, the Removable Media scan, and the Folder scan. In a polite turn, running a scan does not prevent you from exploring the rest of the program.
You can also schedule a boot-time scan and access scan logs from the scan tab. While running a scan, Avast will tell you not only how long the scan has taken and how many files have been examined, but also how much data has been tested and how fast it's being tested. As with the summary graphs, Avast exposes a lot of data here.
Performance
As far as Avast's impact on system performance goes, in a real-world test Avast completed its scans in a timely yet not blazingly fast manner. A Quick Scan took about 20 minutes, and the Full Scan took 59 minutes. RAM usage was surprisingly light, with Avast 6 only eating up about 16MB when running a scan.
As you can see in the chart below, CNET Labs benchmarked Avast 6 as having a moderate impact on system performance. It wasn't the overall best suite we tested, but the three versions of Avast did perform better than average in every category execpt one.
There were some notable areas where Avast did well. Avast had a minimal impact on startup time, with Avast Internet Security 6 adding 6.25 seconds, Avast Pro Antivirus 6 adding 5.76 seconds, and Avast Free Antivirus 6 slowing down the boot cycle by around five and a half seconds. All three posted a tiny impact on system shutdown, around 1.3 seconds slower than an unprotected computer. Scan times as well were competitive, slower than AVG, Trend Micro, and Panda, but faster than most competitors including Microsoft Security Essentials, Norton, and Ad-Aware. Also, Avast Pro Antivirus posted the best Cinebench score we recorded.
Avast's one point of weakness in the lab was its MS Office decoding test performance, where it was slightly slower than average but by no means the slowest suite tested.
How to Beat Nicotine Addictions
How to Beat Nicotine Addictions
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-adCXzctrdhk/TdypT5nnqSI/AAAAAAAAAMw/AJnbET63Z_A/s320/no_smoking.jpg
Quitting a nicotine addiction is never easy, regardless of the nicotine product. No addiction is entirely chemical, so addressing the ritual and social aspect of your addiction is equally critical to successfully quitting. Support from your friends and family helps, but the most important changes have to come from you. A step-by-step guide for beating your nicotine addiction helps address the obstacles associated with each stage of quitting.
Instructions
 1.Identify your reasons for quitting. Everyone is different, so note the reasons most important to you, such as your children's health or a smoke-induced illness. Having a clear goal or incentive for long-term success makes quitting more purposeful.
2.Set a quit date. Decrease withdrawal by choosing a date that is at least one week away, but don't wait much longer or you risk continually postponing your quitting plans. Begin cutting back on the amount of nicotine you consume during this week. Your quit day won't feel so drastic if you incrementally reduce your nicotine consumption over several days.
3.Share your goal. Telling your friends and family increases your accountability and gives you the opportunity to explain what you need from them, such as not smoking or chewing around you. Encourage a friend to quit with you, beating any addiction is always easier with a supportive partner.
 4.Write down the times you are most likely to smoke or chew such, as after a meal or during your work break. Beating any addiction is easier when you know your triggers and can find appropriate replacement activities.
5.Change your routine on quitting day. This day should be the start of a new, healthier you, so set yourself up for success by avoiding your previous pitfalls. If your previous routine included waking up, walking the dog, eating your breakfast and having a cigarette before taking a shower, change your routine. Instead, try eating a power bar while walking your dog and shower immediately after returning to avoid tempting downtime.
6.Try new things and keep busy. Anything that physically prevents you from smoking or chewing is a great activity. Some good examples of distractions include swimming, yoga, knitting or even playing video games if you're bored. Try committing more free time someplace where smoking is prohibited, such as an animal shelter or a children's hospital.
 7.Document your feelings. The first weeks of quitting nicotine are rough, so try writing down you emotions, successes and temptations to channel that energy in a productive way. Continue journaling for several months so you can see the changes in yourself and your life. If you ever go back to smoking or chewing, having a journal will help you identify your mistakes the first time.
8.Reward yourself each day you stay nicotine free. Some people find having a money jar especially helpful. Put the cash you would normally have spent on nicotine products into a jar at the end of each day. You'll be amazed how quickly you save enough money for a rewarding activity like great seats at a sporting event or a relaxing massage.
Tips & Warnings
Don't give up. If you aren't able to beat your addiction the first time, repeat the steps and identify the causes of your relapse. You'll never beat something if you stop trying.
Speak with your doctor before quitting to see if he or she has recommendations for nicotine gum or patches. Having a physical before quitting gives you a point of comparison for your next appointment, when you will hopefully be nicotine free.
The foreign exchange market (forex, FX, or currency market) is a global, worldwide decentralized over-the-counter financial market for trading currencies. Financial centers around the world function as anchors of trading between a wide range of different types of buyers and sellers around the clock, with the exception of weekends. The foreign exchange market determines the relative values of different currencies.[1]
The primary purpose of the foreign exchange is to assist international trade and investment, by allowing businesses to convert one currency to another currency. For example, it permits a US business to import British goods and pay Pound Sterling, even though the business's income is in US dollars. It also supports speculation, and facilitates the carry trade.[2]
In a typical foreign exchange transaction, a party purchases a quantity of one currency by paying a quantity of another currency. The modern foreign exchange market began forming during the 1970s when countries gradually switched to floating exchange rates from the previous exchange rate regime, which remained fixed as per the Bretton Woods system.
The foreign exchange market is unique because of
    its huge trading volume, leading to high liquidity;
    its geographical dispersion;
    its continuous operation: 24 hours a day except weekends, i.e. trading from 20:15 GMT on Sunday until 22:00 GMT Friday;
    the variety of factors that affect exchange rates;
    the low margins of relative profit compared with other markets of fixed income; and
    the use of leverage to enhance profit margins with respect to account size.
As such, it has been referred to as the market closest to the ideal of perfect competition, notwithstanding currency intervention by central banks. According to the Bank for International Settlements,[3] as of April 2010, average daily turnover in global foreign exchange markets is estimated at $3.98 trillion, a growth of approximately 20% over the $3.21 trillion daily volume as of April 2007. Some firms specializing on foreign exchange market had put the average daily turnover in excess of US$4 trillion.[4]
The $3.98 trillion break-down is as follows:
    $1.490 trillion in spot transactions
    $475 billion in outright forwards
    $1.765 trillion in foreign exchange swaps
    $43 billion currency swaps
    $207 billion in options and other products
How to Make Money online
How to Make Money
There are several lists with “ways to make money with a website” on the Internet, but none of them seem to be complete. That is why I decided to create this one. If you know a method that is not listed below, just let us know and we’ll update it.
There are several lists with “ways to make money with a website” on the Internet, but none of them seem to be complete. That is why I decided to create this one. If you know a method that is not listed below, just let us know and we’ll update it.
waystomakemoneywebsite.jpg
Notice that ways to make money with a website are different from ways to make more money from it. Methods to increase your traffic or click-through rate will help you make more money, but they do not represent a method of making money per se.
For example, one could suggest that blending AdSense ads with the content is a way to make money from a website. In reality it’s not; it’s just a way to make more money by improving your ad click-through rate. The real monetization method behind it is a PPC ad network.
The list is divided into direct and indirect methods, and examples and links are provided for each point. Enjoy!
Direct Methods
1. PPC Advertising Networks
Google AdSense is the most popular option under this category, but there are also others. Basically you need to sign up with the network and paste some code snippets on your website. The network will then serve contextual ads (either text or images) relevant to your website, and you will earn a certain amount of money for every click.
The profitability of PPC advertising depends on the general traffic levels of the website and, most importantly, on the click-through rate (CTR) and cost per click (CPC). The CTR depends on the design of the website. Ads placed abode the fold or blended with content, for instance, tend to get higher CTRs. The CPC, on the other hand, depends on the nice of the website. Mortgages, financial products and college education are examples of profitable niches (clicks worth a couple of dollars are not rare), while tech-related topics tend to receive a smaller CPC (sometimes as low as a couple of cents per click).
The source of the traffic can also affect the overall CTR rate. Organic traffic (the one that comes from search engines) tends to perform well because these visitors were already looking for something, and they tend to click on ads more often. Social media traffic, on the other hand, presents terribly low CTRs because these visitors are tech-savvy and they just ignore ads.
List of popular CPC advertising networks:
    Google Adsense
    Yahoo! Publisher Network (YPN)
    BidVertiser
    Chitika
    Clicksor
2. CPM Advertising Networks
CPM advertising networks behave pretty much as PPC networks, except that you get paid according to the number of impressions (i.e., page views) that the ads displayed on your site will generate. CPM stands for Cost per Mille, and it refers to the cost for 1,000 impressions.
A blog that generates 100,000 page views monthly displaying an advertising banner with a $1 CPM, therefore, will earn $100 monthly.
CPM rates vary with the network, the position of the ad and the format. The better the network, the higher the CPM rate (because they have access to more advertisers). The closer you put the ad to the top of the page, the higher the CPM. The bigger the format (in terms of pixels), the higher the CPM.
You can get as low as $0,10 and as high as $10 per 1,000 impressions (more in some special cases). CPM advertising tends to work well on websites with a high page views per visitor ratio (e.g., online forums, magazines and so on).
List of popular CPM advertising networks:
    Casale Media
    Burst Media
    Value Click
    Advertising.com
    Tribal Fusion
    Right Media
3. Direct Banner Advertising
Selling your own advertising space is one of the most lucrative monetization methods. First and foremost because it enables you to cut out the middleman commissions and to determine your own rates. The most popular banner formats on the web are the 728×90 leaderboard, the 120×600 skyscraper, the 300×250 rectangle and the 125×125 button.
The downside of direct banner advertising is that you need to have a big audience to get qualified advertisers, and you will need to spend time managing the sales process, the banners and the payments.
4. Text Link Ads
After Google declared that sites selling text links without the nofollow tag would be penalized, this monetization method became less popular.
Many website owners are still using text links to monetize their sites, though, some using the nofollow tag and some not.
The advantage of this method is that it is not intrusive. One can sell text links directly through his website or use specialized networks like Text-Link-Ads and Text-Link-Brokers to automate the process.
Text link marketplaces and networks:
    DigitalPoint Link Sales Forum
    Text-Link-Ads
    Text-Link-Brokers
    TNX
    LinkWorth
5. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is a very popular practice on the Internet. Under this system you have a merchant that is willing to let other people (the affiliates) sell directly or indirectly its products and services, in exchange for a commission. Sometimes this type of advertising is also called CPA (cost per action) or CPL (cost per lead) based.
Affiliates can send potential customers to the merchant using several tools, from banners to text links and product reviews.
In order to find suitable affiliate programs you can turn to individual companies and publishers like Dreamhost and SEOBook, or join affiliate marketplaces and networks.
List of popular affiliate marketplaces and networks:
    Commission Junction
    ClickBank
    Azoogle Ads
    Link Share
6. Monetization Widgets
The latest trend on the web are widgets that let you monetize your website. Examples include Widgetbucks and SmartLinks. Some of these services operate under a PPC scheme, others behave like text link ads, others yet leverage affiliate links.
Their main differentiator, however, is the fact that they work as web widgets, making it easier for the user to plug and play the service on its website.
List of companies that provide monetization widgets:
    WidgetBucks
    ScratchBack
    SmartLinks
7. Sponsored Reviews
PayPerPost pioneered this model, with much controversy on the beginning (related to the fact that they did not require disclosure on paid posts). Soon other companies followed, most notably Sponsored Reviews and ReviewMe, refining the process and expanding the paid blogging model.
Joining one of these sponsored reviews marketplaces will give you the opportunity to write sponsored posts on a wide range of topics. Not all bloggers are willing to get paid to write about a specific product or website (because it might compromise the editorial credibility), but the ones who do are making good money out of it.
If your blog has a big audience you could also offer sponsored reviews directly, cutting off the commissions of the middleman.
List of sponsored reviews and paid blogging networks:
    PayPerPost
    Sponsored Reviews
    ReviewMe
    BlogVertise
    Smorty
8. RSS Feed Ads
With the quick adoption of the RSS technology by millions of Internet users, website owners are starting to find ways to monetize this new content distribution channel.
Feedburber already has its own publisher network, and you can sign-up to start displaying CPM based advertising on your feed footer. Bidvertiser recently introduced a RSS feed ad option as well, with a PPC scheme.
Finally, some blogs are also opting to sell banners or sponsored messages on their feed directly. John Chow and Marketing Pilgrim are two examples.
    BidVertiser
9. Sponsors for Single Columns or Events
If you website has specific columns or events (e.g., a weekly podcast, an interview series, a monthly survey, a special project) you could find companies to sponsor them individually.
This method increases the monetization options for website owner, while giving advertisers the possibility to target a more specific audience and with a reduced commitment.
Mashable illustrates the case well. They have several advertising options on the site, including the possibility to sponsor specific columns and articles, including the “Daily Poll” and the “Web 2.0 Invites.”
Problogger also runs group writing projects occasionally, and before proceeding he publicly announce the project asking for sponsors.
10.Premium Content
Some websites and blogs give away part of their content for free, and charge for access to the premium content and exclusive tools.
SEOMoz is a good example. They have a very popular blog that gives advice and information on wide range of SEO related topics. On top of that visitors can decide to become premium members. It costs $48 monthly and it grants them access to guides, tools and other exclusive material.
11. Private Forums
While the Internet is populated with free forums, there is also the possibility to create a private one where members need to pay a single or recurring fee to join.
SEO Blackhat charges $100 monthly from its members, and they have thousands of them. Obviously in order to charge such a price for a forum membership you need to provide real value for the members (e.g., secret techniques, tools, and so on).
Performancing also launched a private forum recently, focused on the networking aspect. It is called The Hive, and the monthly cost is $10.
These are just two examples. There are many possibilities to create a private and profitable forum, you just need to find an appealing angle that will make it worth for the members.
List of popular forum software:
    vBulletin
    Simple Machines Forum
    phpBB
    Vanilla
12. Job Boards
All the popular blogs are trying to leverage job boards to make some extra income. Guy Kawasaki, ReadWriteWeb, Problogger… you name it.
Needless to say that in order to create an active and profitable job board you need first to have a blog focused on a specific niche, and a decent amount traffic.
The advantage of this method is that it is passive. Once you have the structure in place, the job listings will come naturally, and you can charge anywhere from $10 up to $100 for each.
List of popular job board software:
    JobThread
    Web Scribe Job Board
    SimplyHired Job-o-matic
    Jobbex
13. Marketplaces
Sitepoint is the online marketplace by excellence. Some websites and blogs, however, are trying to replicate that model on a smaller scale.
Depending on your niche, a market place that allows your visitors to buy, sell and trade products could work well. Over the time you could start charging a small fee for new product listings.
The problem with this method is that there are no standard software on the web, so you would need to hire a coder to get a marketplace integrated into your website.
You can see an example of a marketplaces being used on EasyWordpress and on Mashable.
14. Paid Surveys and Polls
There are services that will pay you money to run a small survey or poll on your website. The most popular one is called Vizu Answers.
Basically you need to sign up with them, and select the kind of polls that you want to run your site. Most of these services operate under a CPM model.
15. Selling or Renting Internal Pages
Million Dollar Wiki made this concept popular, but it was being used on the web for a long time around (check Pagerank10.co.uk for instance).
These websites sell for a single fee or rent for a recurring fee internal pages on their domain. Usually they have either high Pagerak or high traffic, so that people purchasing a page will be able to benefit in some way.
Implementing this method on a small blog would be difficult, but the concept is interesting and could be explored further.
16. Highlighted Posts from Sponsors
Techmeme probably pioneered this idea, but somehow it has not spread to other websites. The tech news aggregator displays editorial posts on the left column, and on the sidebar they have a section titled “Techmeme Sponsor Posts.”
On that section posts from the blog of the advertisers get highlighted, sending qualified traffic their way. Considering that the monthly cost for one spot is $5000 and that they have around 6 sponsors at any given time, it must be working well.
17. Donations
Placing a “Donate” link or button on a website can be an efficient way to earn money, especially if your blog is on a niche where readers learn and gain value from your content.
Personal development and productivity blogs, for instance, tend to perform well with donation based systems (one good example being Steve Pavlina).
A small variation of this method appeared sometime ago with the Buy Me a Beer plugin. This WordPress plugin enables you to insert a customized message at the bottom of each article, asking the readers to chip in for a beer or coffee.
18. In-text Adverting
In-text adverting networks like Kontera and Vibrant Media will place sponsored links inside your text. These links come with a double underline to differentiate them from normal links, and once the user rolls the mouse over the link the advertising will pop. Should the user click on it the site owner will make some money.
Some people make good money with this method, but others refrain from using it due to its intrusiveness. It is also interesting to note that very few mainstream websites have experimented with in-text advertising.
19. Pop-ups and Pop-unders
Pop-ups are a common yet annoying form of advertising on the Internet. If you are just trying to make a much money as possible from your website, you could experiment with them.
If you are trying to grow the traffic and generate loyal visitors, however, you probably should stay away from them. Just consider the hundreds of pop-up blockers out there: there is a reason why they are so popular.
Ad networks that use pop-ups:
    Tribal Fusion
    PayPopup
    PopupAd
    Adversal
20. Audio Ads
Also called PPP (Pay Per Play), this advertising method was introduce by Net Audio Ads. the concept is pretty simple: play a small audio advertising (usually 5 seconds) every time a visitor enters into your website. The user should not be able to stop it, creating a 100% conversion rate based on unique visitors.
The company is still rolling tests, but some users are reporting to get from a $4 to a $6 CPM. Regardless of the pay rate, though, this is a very intrusive form of advertising, so think twice before using it.
21. Selling the Website
Selling your website could be your last resource, but it has the potential to generate a big sum of money in a short period of time.
Market places on online forums like DigitalPoint and Sitepoint are always active with website buyers and sellers. Keep in mind that they most used parameter to determine the value of a website is the monthly revenue that it generates, multiplied by a certain number (the multiplier can be anything from 5 to 30, depending on the expectations of the seller, on the quality of the site, on the niche and other factors).
Some people also make money trading and flipping websites. They either create them from scratch or buy existing ones, and after some revamping they sell them for a profit.
22. Selling an Ebook
Perhaps one of the oldest money making strategies on the web, using a website to promote a related ebook is a very efficient way to generate revenue.
You could either structure the website around the book itself, like SEOBook.com, or launch the ebook based on the success of the website, like FreelanceSwitch did we the book How to be a Rockstar Freelancer.
23. Selling a Hardcover Book
Many authors and journalists leverage their blogs or websites to sell copies of hardcover books. Examples include Guy Kawasaki, Seth Godin and Malcolm Gladwell.
While most of these people were already renowned authors before they created their website, one could also follow the other way around. Lorelle VanFossen did exactly that with her Blogging Tips book. First she built her authority on the subject via her blog, and afterwards she published the book.
List of self publishing and publishing services:
    Lulu
    Self Publishing
    iUniverse
    WordClay
24. Selling Templates or WordPress Themes
As more and more people decide to get an online presence, website templates and WordPress themes become hotter and hotter.
On this segment you have mainstream websites like TemplateMonster, as well as individual designers who decide to promote and sell their work independently.
Brian Gardner and Unique Blog Designs are two examples of websites that make money with the sales of premium and custom WordPress themes.
25. Offering Consulting and Related Services
Depending on your niche, you could make money by offering consulting and related services. If you are also the author of your blog, the articles and information that you will share will build your profile and possibly certify your expertise on that niche, making it easier to gain customers.
Chris Garrett used a similar strategy. First he created a highly influential blog on the blogging and new media niche, and afterwards he started offering consulting services to clients with related problems and needs.
26. Creating an Email List or Newsletter
Email lists and newsletters represent one of the most powerful marketing and money making tools on the Internet. They offer incredible conversion rates, and the possibility to call people to action in a very efficient way.
Creating a big list is a difficult task though, so if you have a popular website you could leverage it to increase the number of subscribers on your list.
Yaro Starak is a famous Internet marketer, and if you visit his blog you will notice that right on top he has a section encouraging visitors to subscribe to his email newsletter. Yaro generates five figures in revenues each month from his email newsletters, proving that this method works.
List of software to manage email newsletters:
    AWeber
    SendStudio NX
    PHP Autoresponder
    Constant Contact
27. Mentoring programs
People are willing to pay for someone or something that will teach them and give them knowledge (as opposed to mere information). Education is one of the biggest industries in the world, and the online landscape behaves in a similar way.
Creating a mentoring program related to the niche of your website could be very profitable if you manage to structure and promote it adequately. There is a wide range of media and tools that you can use to deliver the information, from text articles to audio and video lessons.
Brian Clark leveraged the success of Copyblogger to launch a mentoring program teaching people how to build membership and how to sell content online. The program is titled Teaching Sells, and it costs $97 monthly. Sounds expensive, but they have over 1,000 members.
28. Creating a conference around the website
If your website takes off and becomes an authority on its niche, you could create a conference around it. Depending on the size of your audience, the event could attract thousands of people, and you could make money directly from conference passes and sponsors.
Search Engine Land, for instance, created a series of conferences that visit several cities on the United States and on other countries as well. The conferences are called Search Marketing Expo, and the tickets and passes cost thousands of dollars.
